John H. May II is a licensed C2 electrician with extensive experience in the State of Nevada, having held his license since 2017. He currently serves as the leader of the Lighting Controls Service Department at Roth Lighting. With a deep expertise in various aspects of electrical systems, his background encompasses lighting controls, Architainment Lighting, DMX512, Energy Storage, Solar Photovoltaic Systems, Demand Response, and a strong aptitude for troubleshooting complex electrical systems.
John embarked on his electrical career in 2006, gradually honing his skills in both residential and commercial service roles, with a specialization in troubleshooting. In 2014, he played a pivotal role as the lead electrician in the installation of the first five-home energy storage system in the State of Nevada, a milestone that underlined his proficiency in innovative energy solutions.
In 2015, John was recruited by HDR Consulting LLC, where he emerged as a key figure in the Engineering Field Support Department. His primary focus was on implementing Demand Response Pilots and Programs for NV Energy. His contributions included substantial support for field installations of pilot technologies that continue to be in use, particularly in load-shifting energy solutions during critical peak time frames throughout the Las Vegas Valley.
Since joining Roth Lighting in early 2020, John has been involved in a series of notable projects. These include the RGB lighting installation on the iconic London Bridge in Lake Havasu, AZ, retrofitting various ballroom lighting and controls, and providing valuable support to local electrical contractors at every stage of control system projects, from design to system start-ups.
